Boy, oh, boy!

My boys are absolutely getting huge, aren't they? Grandma gave them new church clothes for Christmas and I had an anxiety attack looking at Ben in a white shirt and tie. They are all just too old. Where did the time go?? Sunrise/sunset . . .sigh!
I had an eye appt. today and because the boys are on Christmas break they went with me. They ended up sitting in the waiting room for about 45 min. on their own. I was a little stressed that the office girls would come hunt me down and kick us all out. But, when I went to collect the little scrappers, they were quietly drawing and looking at magazines that we took. A little old man in the waiting room even mentioned to me how well behaved they were. . . . 8-). I was proud of them though a little surprised. They are good boys!!

So blessed!

Well, Merry Christmas everyone. We had a very good one and are very blessed (some might say spoiled). It was a very relaxing day filled with board games, video games, food, food and more food. Ben woke everyone up at 4am and was sent back to bed until 7am. Zac and Sam managed to go back to sleep, but Ben didn't. By 10pm that night he was pretty giddy. We all had a very nice day though. Merry Christmas all! I pray you will remember the reason for this glorious season and know of the blessings that come from the goodness of the Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel on the earth today. More pictures are on the way. I received a new camera (hooray!!) for Christmas and I haven't installed the software to download the pictures yet. . . .they will be coming later.

Gingerbread House Contest!

Hello all,
So, we are snowed in and trying to make the best of it. We had a gingerbread house making contest (okay, the houses are made of grahmn crackers, but it is pretty close). It is up to YOU to vote for who's is the 'best'. We need your judgement!! Take a look at the pictures and let us know what you think. :0) Before the contest Bill, Ben and Zac (who bailed early) set out to fix their snow cave. It caved in a couple times, but they were able to complete it to their satisfaction. It is pretty cold here, about 6 degrees, so they didn't stay out too long, but had fun in the making!
Oh, yea, and Copper sure looks humiliated, doesn't he? Ah, the things we do to keep busy on a snowed in day!!

Tidings of Comfort and Joy!

I'm feeling very Christmasy . . .I guess a foot of snow will do that! We are in a winter wonderland right now and expecting up to another foot of snow tonight/tomorrow. Hope the power stays on or we will be mighty cold seeing that it is 11 degrees outside today (up from the -6 it was last night). Christmas cards are going in the mail today and my Christmas shopping is almost done. I have a few last minute items and a few I'm waiting to come in the mail (better hurry up). I have fudge to make and gingerbread houses to prepare for preschool tomorrow! How very seasonal!! Merry Christmas all!!!

A White Christmas!

Well, looks like we may have a White Christmas! Take a look at the kids playing in the snow. We woke up to about 4 inches Saturday morning and it snowed ALL day and into Sunday afternoon. We have about 8 inches now and we are blanketed in a thick layer of snow and ice. It is about 9 degrees right now and looking to dip even further in the next few days. Brrr - baby, it's cold outside!! We also finally got the tree up (see pic.). (Yes, Grandma, the boys wear play clothes with holes in the knees on Sunday - Don't judge me!) :0) Our poor little front room is bursting at the seams with the piano and tree added. But, we are soo blessed!! Stay warm out there.

Christmas came early!

Well, I just had to share. Bill bought us matching wedding bands for our 14th anniversary (coming up next week). They are tungsten and they are plain bands, and I love them. I'm so very spoiled!!
Also, we had some friends GIVE us a piano and my dear sweet husband agreed to not only let me keep it, but to move it home for me. Doesn't she look nice under the pictures of my boys! I'm super excited because I've always wanted a piano; not that I know how to play or anything, but maybe I'll need to learn now!! :-) (happy Laura!)

She takes up a lot of space, but I'll endure for such a nice gift!! We have such a small house that I have absolutely, positively no idea where the Christmas tree will go (eeps) - but I DO know where the nativity will go! See that nice level and empty spot on top of the piano? :-)

Pecan Pies??

I had to make 8 pecan pies for a wrestling fundraiser and this is what they turned out looking like. Bill kept saying he couldn't believe how good they look. "They really look like pecan pies" . . ."excuse me? of course they do". . . .okay, he has a valid point, the things I make don't always turn out they way they are supposed to. . . .I hope they taste okay. ;0)

Stories with Grandma Beth

We spent a lovely Thanksgiving in La Grande. Beside spending some fun time at Donna and Brent's house, we stayed with Cheryl and Beth was visiting. She was able to share some great stories with the boys and we had a nice time visiting.
